This week we will be practicing transformational action planning. Come prepared to coach for a longer practice time so that you and your peer coach(es) have time to close towards action with an eye on the transformational significance of that action.

Objectives and Key Results

This next video is meant to serve two purposes:

  1. OKRs are a common corporate method of goal setting. It’s a part of corporate vocabulary, and important to understand as part of corporate client’s context.
  2. John’s review of the elements of OKRs act as a helpful alternative to SMART. Instead of looking at Doability (SMART), OKRs also explore the Why: Significance (inward why), Concrete, Action-Oriented and Inspirational (outward why). It’s not the best acronym, but as we move towards deeper Goal Setting with our clients, it is so important to go beyond Doable and to move towards Transformational.
