Coaching Assessments and Interviews
If you want to partner with coaching companies, be ready to be assessed and interviewed. While some coaches are opposed to the idea of being assessed, it is a crucial part of how companies can tell if a coach is capable of supporting their clients.
This week’s content focuses on helping coaches prepare for being assessed and being interviewed. We also take a look at the Coach Knowledge Assessment for the first time (Look for practice questions in our future class pages). During our live practice, be ready to step into your “nervous state” of coaching a bit more than usual.
Coach Knowledge Assessment Practice Questions (From Solutions Academy – New format) – Consider saving this practice test for a few days before taking the actual coach knowledge assessment.
Coaching Outside the Box Practice Questions (An additional practice test using the best/worst format you can take near the exam)
Coach Knowledge Assessment Practice Questions (From Solutions Academy – Old format and ACC Prep) This practice test reflects the old CKA, but is still helpful
Test Tips we will discuss in class for the PCC/MCC version of the exam:
- Don’t Argue with the Scenario – It prompt is what it is, even if we wouldn’t want to find ourselves in that scenario in the first place.
- Random Coach X – Read the options in a “Raw Form” instead of our own voice.
- Which Competency? – Consider which competency is primarily being assessed with each question.
- Top 2, Bottom 2 – As you review the 4 options, automatically filter the top 2 and bottom 2 options.
- Which would I do first? – After these other tips, if you are uncertain, consider which option should be done first (which is most immediately responsive)
- Beware of the Grammar – Sometimes the grammar has some issues, if you are uncertain about the reading consider tentatively answering and then flag the question for later review.
