How does a coach establish an agenda with a client without it sounding formulaic or forced? If we cannot answer this question, then our agenda setting will act as a distraction from the empathetic connection between the coach and the client and it will stifle the creative exploration of the session. However, when a coach integrates structure with empathetic variability the agenda exploration will feel as natural as any other meaningful moment of a coaching session.
For session 2, we consider measuring MCC level performance when setting client agreements to help begin our sessions with natural partnership around the client’s hopes for the session.

Content Review
Coaches should keep following resource on hand for self and peer assessment throughout the program. We will review how to use this approach in class. Consider printing out the sheet ahead of time to use in class.
Coaches should begin to take notes on roughly 4 coaching sessions per week using the “Daily Coaching Record” below. This is meant to be a brief, reflective exercise where coaches take note of what went well during a session, what challenges they may have experienced, and what lessons they want to remember from each session. Come prepared to briefly discuss your findings during the live session.
